Getting stranded in rural central Georgia turned out to be one of the greatest gifts ever bestowed upon me. Through a series of events that, on the surface may seem unfortunate, transmuted into a series of heart-warming events.

Helen Greyeyes is indicative of the Navajo People. I met Helen about one year ago, and have now become like an extended part of their family. I have photographed Helen many times, but more gratifying has spent the time that I have had interacting with her, and her family. This episode is about Helen, her family, and the Navajo People.
I felt that this would be the perfect post-Thanksgiving story that I could share with you. It is a story of an experience, that still holds great importance for me - and one that I constantly am Thankful for. It is in reference to the ancient, and very important tradition of "Breaking Bread".
